So, today was the day I had my first dose of the Moderna vaccine. The shot didn’t hurt at all. I thought the nurse was still swabbing my skin when she said the injection was complete. But now my arm hurts a lot. Hopefully, that’s the worst of it.
Before the appointment, I had to complete an online form and then another form when I arrived. Yes…No…Sign Here….Sign Here…Initial…Initial…Initial. I hope I didn’t give away my first born.
I scheduled the shot at my local hospital, and the staff was very nice. They were organized, and there were people overseeing the whole operation, equipped with a sense of humor too. As I was leaving, one of them asked if my arm was still attached to my body. I said yes, and she said “Then you’re free to go.”
I was supplied with plenty of printed information and links to websites to read about adverse reactions, benefits, risks and other assorted more-than-I-want-to-know details about the vaccine.
I know there’s a lot of skepticism about the vaccines and the vaccination process, and I had some trepidation as well. But the coronavirus has taken so much out of our control – where we go, who we see, how we interact with people and our surroundings – that it feels good knowing I could take some action that, hopefully, will contribute to a healthy society.
Thank you Gail for describing your experience.
I am not excited to take the vaccine, but can’t wait to just get it over with.
Wishing you a blessed weekend! ♥♥
